Magen Tzedek Movement

Am Yisrael Congregation has formed a committee to help promote and publicize the new MagenTzedek initiative. The committee is made up of members Naomi Fisher, Arlene Rosenberg, Norma Spungen and Richard Cohen. Each member has been assigned to "get the word out" regarding the importance of this undertaking.
Magen Tzedek is an exciting new movement that was born in response to the unfortunate events that took place at the Kosher processing plant in Postville, Iowa in May of 2008. Like many pivotal events, this has led to a complete rethinking of what it means to stamp Kosher products as well as the impact of Kashrut on our lives as Conservative Jews. It will also provide those of us who do not keep kosher to take stock in the true, deep meaning of maintaining Kashrut in our homes.
